Kanye West apologizes to Beck ,Bruno Mars as well!

Image
Kanye took to Twitter  on  (26 Feb) to publicly apologize for stealing Beck’s Grammy moment and dissing his album.   He even went a step further and apologized to Bruno Mars. We didn’t even know they were beefing! The reason for the apology might be his sudden interest in them getting together on a song he’s working on with Puff and 88 Keys. We’ll see if Bruno Mars accepts the apology and makes something magical with 'Ye. Kanye’s remorseful mood may have been spurred by an emotional interview he had earlier with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe in which he opened about his plans for the future and even broke down, speaking about the loss of one of his design mentors. We’re enjoying the newer and more humble Kanye... Watch the BBC Radio 1 interview below.

And here we thought people were tired of this family! Although the network is denying the news, insiders believe that they are trying to keep the contract under wraps for future negotiating purposes. A source told People magazine: "E! is now freaking because others are calling trying to get a better deal – like Guilana [Rancic].”

Naya Rivera announces pregnancy

Image
Big Sean’s ex announced that she and hubby, Ryan Dorsey, are expecting their first child. She posted a bun in the oven picture on her personal blog and Instagram this week. Same day as Big Sean’s album! Naya and Ryan got married three months after she broke off her engagement with Big Sean, and coincidentally announced their pregnancy same day as Big Sean’s album launch. Hmm, coincidence much? Ryan took to Twitter to set the record straight on why they shared the news same day as Sean’s album and it turns out it was due to someone selling the story to OK Magazine.

Facebook And Other Tech Firms Join Hands To Thwart Cyber Attacks

Image
Facebook, Yahoo and other technology firms announced the creation of a "ThreatExchange" to share information to help thwart cyberattacks. "ThreatExchange is built on the existing Facebook platform infrastructure... so that partner companies can query the available threat information and also publish to all or a subset of participating organisations," the social network said in a statement. "Our goal is that organisations anywhere will be able to use ThreatExchange to share threat information more easily, learn from each other's discoveries, and make their own systems safer. That's the beauty of working together on security. When one company gets stronger, so do the rest of us." The statement said Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and Yahoo have been working on the program and new partners including Bitly and Dropbox. "We have a vested interest in making the Internet safer and giving people better ways to connect and share," Face...

eview: Is Microsoft Office 365 Worth Subscribing To?

Image
NEW YORK - Just as I was warming up to choosing a Microsoft Office 365 subscription over making a one-time software purchase, Microsoft started giving away a lot of subscription benefits for free. The company now offers Word, Excel and others at no cost on most mobile devices. It's a smart move by Microsoft, but it makes me wonder whether you really need a subscription, which starts at $70 a year. The subscription will appeal to people who use Office apps on traditional Windows or Mac computers or Windows tablets, such as the Surface Pro 3. Those who primarily use iOS and Android mobile devices can probably stick with free apps. What's right for you comes down to whether you need a PC or can get things done with just your smartphone or tablet. Here's what to consider. THE FREEBIES Microsoft's newly released Office apps for iPhones, iPads and Android tablets are quite good. Microsoft offers Word for text documents, Excel for spreadsheets, PowerPoint for p...

Investor Carl Icahn Values Apple At More Than $1 Trillion

Image
Activist investor and major Apple Inc shareholder Carl Icahn said the iPhone maker's stock should be trading at $216, far above its record high of $124.92 hit on Wednesday. At $216 per share, Apple - already the world's most valuable company - would be worth about $1.3 trillion, or about the size of South Korea's gross domestic product. The company is valued at just over $700 billion currently. Icahn said Apple should be trading at 20 times earnings per share, which taken together with net cash of $22 per share works out to $216 per share. "This is why we continue to own approximately 53 million shares worth $6.5 billion, and why we have not sold a single share," Icahn said in a letter to his Twitter followers. "Also, to the extent Apple introduces a TV in FY 2016 or FY 2017, we believe this 20X multiple is conservative," he wrote. Icahn, one of Apple's top 10 investors, has long urged the company to buy back more shares and raise its...

Facebook Launches Free Mobile Internet Service In India

Image
Facebook has tied up with Reliance Communications to provide basic internet services on mobile phones for free, making India the first country in Asia to get Facebook's Internet.org service. The companies will first offer the app in seven of India's 22 regions, or zones and it will then go nationwide in the next 90 days, Gurdeep Singh, chief executive of Reliance's consumer business told reporters. The service is run by Internet.org, the non-profit organisation whose backers also include Ericsson , Nokia, Samsung, Qualcomm and Opera Software, which has the declared aim of making basic Internet services available to the two-thirds of the world's population which is not yet connected. The app, aimed at low income and rural users, will offer free access via mobile phone to more than 30 pared-down web services, focused on job listings, agricultural information, healthcare and education sites in seven regional languages -- as well as Facebook's own soci...

Smartphone Apps As Effective As Wearable Devices For Tracking Physical Activity: Study

Image
Smartphone apps can track an individual's physical activity just as accurately as wearable devices, scientists, including one of Indian-origin, have found. Researchers tested 10 of the top-selling smartphone apps and devices in the US by having 14 participants walk on a treadmill for 500 and 1,500 steps, each twice (for a total of 56 trials), and then recording their step counts. The study was led by researchers at the Perelman School of Medicine and the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioural Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. "We found that smartphone apps are just as accurate as wearable devices for tracking physical activity," "In this study, we wanted to address one of the challenges with using wearable devices: they must be accurate," said lead study author Meredith A Case, a medical student at Penn. "After all, if a device is going to be effective at monitoring - and potentially changing - behaviour, individuals hav...

Boston Dynamics' 'Spot' Is A Walking, Tumbling Robot Dog

Image
The Google-owned, maybe-terrifying Boston Dynamics robotics lab has a new automaton it’s kicking around the office. Literally. ‘Spot’ is a 160-lb version of its previous experiments in four-legged, all-terrain robotics, and for some reason Boston Dynamics appears obsessed with kicking it. The electrically-powered bot is self-balancing, which is pretty important given its main role is to transport heavy goods over long distances. But that also means its engineers appear in this video to really enjoy attempting to topple it over. So that's why they're kicking it -- it's to prove it won't trip over when it encounters a goat. Or a rock. Or a mean human engineer with too much time on their hands. Ah well. As we saw yesterday, the robot uprising is almost here anyway - probably best we have some fun while we can.

Boko Haram Attacks Nigeria's Gombe, Repelled By Military

Image
BAUCHI, Nigeria (AP) — Nigeria's military Saturday repelled an attack on a northeastern town by Boko Haram Islamic extremists who, as they retreated, warned residents not to participate in the country's elections in March. Two air force jets joined soldiers in attacking the rebels after they assaulted Gombe in the morning. The Boko Haram fighters left in a convoy of vehicles carrying dozens of corpses, according to residents. "They were heard telling our people in the villages leading to Gombe that they have not come to harm civilians but the security agents. They were also dropping copies of papers with messages written in Hausa warning people not to participate in the coming elections, lest they risk being killed," said resident Malam Hassan. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the message in which Boko Haram warned that its fighters will attack all polling stations in the March 28 elections. The Boko Haram paper also said residents should not a...

Deadly Shooting At Copenhagen Free Speech Event

Image
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A gunman opened fire Saturday on a Copenhagen cultural center, killing one man in what authorities called a terror attack against a free speech event featuring an artist who had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad. The shooting, which also wounded three police officers, came a month after extremists killed 12 people at a satirical newspaper in Paris that had sparked Muslim outrage with its depictions of Muhammad . There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the shooting, which took place shortly before 4 p.m. Danish police said the gunman used an automatic weapon to shoot through the windows of the Krudttoenden cultural center, which TV footage showed were riddled with bullet holes. The gunman then fled in a carjacked Volkswagen Polo that was found later a few kilometers (miles) away, police said. They said the victim was a man about 40 who was inside the cultural center. He has not yet been identified. Two of the wounded officers belonge...

Indian-American Pilot's Selfies Caused Plane Crash

Image
An Indian-American pilot and/or his passenger in Colorado were likely taking selfies when the pilot lost control of the plane, causing it to crash, and killing them both last spring, according to federal investigators Pilot Amritpal Singh, 29, and his passenger were killed instantly when Singh's Cessna 150K crashed into a wheat field shortly after midnight May 31, USA Today reported. The wreckage was discovered around 7:30 that morning. A GoPro camera mounted to the plane's windshield recorded Singh and several other passengers taking selfies on their cellphones during a series of short flights before the crash, the National Transportation Safety Board found. While the GoPro didn't record the flight where Singh crashed, investigators portrayed a pattern of the pilot taking selfies and possibly texting while giving rides to passengers above Front Range Airport, about 30 miles east of Denver, Colorado, the newspaper said. Singh's plane was about 740 feet...

Meet The Shaolin Monk Who Smashed The World Record By Sprinting 400ft On Water

Image
A Shaolin monk has broken the world record by sprinting almost 400ft on water. In the video, Shi Liliang, who took just six attempts to best his previous record by a full 60ft (18 metres), is seen dashing a staggering 387ft (118 metres) across a reservoir in China, the Daily Express reported. To complete the impossible feat, monks sprint over a bridge built of 1cm thick plywood planks strung together and floated on the surface of the water. A rock is thrown on-top of the planks at the start of the video, showing the bridge can easily be submerged. Dashing across the planks requires intense focus and strength to use the limited buoyancy of the planks to cross the reservoir in Quanzhou city. It took Liliang from the Quanzhou Shaolin Temple, who has been training in Qinggong since 2005 and attempted his first record in 2009, only managing a relatively paltry 50ft (15 metres), just 45 seconds to cross the reservoir in his latest record-breaking attempt.

Lady Gaga Debuts Stunning New Brunette Bob

Image
Totally stunning! Gaga recently turned heads at the Grammys while channeling her more glam side: While it's hard for us not to love a Lady Gaga styling, we are definitely fans of her sultry new look. Now this is a look Lady Gaga should rock more often! While she's toned down on the meat dresses and over-the-top couture, it's still rare to see the pop star in her natural element. But on Friday, the 28-year-old looked almost unrecognizable as she stepped out without any wigs on and sporting a dress one would even consider "normal." The "Born This Way" singer put what looked like her natural hair on display, trading in the fake blonde locks she loves oh-so-much for a short, jet black 'do. - See more at: http://www.toofab.com/2015/02/14/lady-gaga-natural-hair-photos/#sthash.SjH61Y3m.dpuf Now this is a look Lady Gaga should rock more often!
